Last week I unveiled my new professional website, randallmurrow.com. I have owned the domain for a few years but am only just now devoting it completely to professional work. The redesigned site will feature a changing portfolio and client proofing galleries, with print ordering coming soon.
The website will also be tied to a companion blog, [...]

JPG Magazine has chosen the image below for upcoming Issue 17, due sometime soon. Issue 16 says “April/May,” which would make Issue 17 “June/July.” But that can’t be right.
So now I suppose I’ll participate more within that community until the usual ADD sets in. I submitted photographs for other upcoming themes earlier this week, shown [...]

Lots of love from the *ist world this week. Houstonist featured this Art Car Parade After Party photo on Friday the 13th (Perhaps they found it frightful?).
Londonist featured a couple of my Naked Bike Ride photos on Monday, 16 June . . .
and Londonist again with this Bush protest photo on June 17.
Thanks, *ist-iverse.

A reference to one of my favorite British comedy sketch shows. Also, my internal dialogue over the past 2-3 days, debating whether or not I should go spend an afternoon photographing random strangers in public places for my portrait class this week (snapshot aesthetic is the current assignment).

This speech by photographer and fellow APUGer Sean Kernan wonderfully encapsulates my thinking for the past few weeks, particularly heightened upon reading Daniel Pink’s A Whole New Mind as recommended by Dan.
“Imagine that your creativity is a large room with doors on all sides. You chose one door awhile back, as I chose photography. And [...]

Cameras, cameras everywhere. The UK is perhaps the closest watched society in the world. Just take care not to watch back. Two videos for this week:

Last week I was completely absent from my blog, as I spent the entire workweek with a group of 10 other wonderful photographers from various walks of life; one even came all the way from Hong Kong. I enrolled in my first class at Central St. Martin’s School of Art & Design, a portrait photography [...]
