Had a bit of a rest last week from blogging, lest I bore you with more groaning and moaning about allergies and useless medicine and what-not. The fog in my head is clearing, as are my chest and ears, and beautiful days are ahead.
Speaking of beautiful days, Jay and I braved a grim weather forecast on Saturday and headed up to Trafalgar Square just after lunch for London’s Gay Pride celebrations. The sun was out, temps were pleasant, and it turned out to be a marvelous day. Read about it on Londonist, who once again have featured a few of the photos I took during the day. After the parade, Jay and I had some food, then met up with our collaborator and fellow trouble-maker Wardi and his new photographer friend Peter. The after-party in Trafalgar Square quickly became tiresome, so we headed over to Soho where the cool and the beautiful and the tragic were.
Funny that on ONE day of the year, strangers in the street will stop you and implore you to take their picture, in some cases showing you more than you really want to see. If your safety levels on Flickr are disabled, you know what I’m talking about. Still, London’s Pride event is as reserved as Britain herself. Dignified decadence, perhaps. But still a good party.
