It’s harder here than it seems, especially when the weather isn’t friendly. Yesterday was pretty ugly, so I stayed in. The train station is a 10 minute walk away, and daily ticket prices from here into central London are steep enough to make me reconsider frequent jaunts into the city to explore, photography, etc. Croydon is in Zone 5; when we move to Clapham/Battersea, we will be in Zone 2 and one stop away from the center of the city.
Today was beautiful, but still chilly enough that I regretted not bringing my stocking cap when I went out after lunch. Took a book and my laptop and spent the better part of the afternoon reading and catching up on email at a pub in the area.
